Blower speed problem persists. (archive)

Both blower motors in my '80 633csi work only on high speed.I replaced the transistor on the control board per BCG archive instructions, then replaced the one inside the heater blower housing. No luck..still only high speed. What else should I look at. PITA to keep removing the panel and will eventually break something if I keep at it long enough.TIA!
