They also had larger front turn signal lenses that stuck our, and the flat euro headlights had to be removed for the US seal beam type. Side markers were necessary, but not all cars got them, many have since had them removed. I've also heard seat belt reminder buzzer.

I imported 2 1980 635's back in 87....bumpers had to reinforced, side impact bars were welded in the doors, the halogen driving lights were removed and sealed beams were installed, side markes were added, an anti roll over fuel valve was added, seat belt warning buzzer was added, the speedo was changed out to a US model, and the extended turnsignal lights were added (ugly)...still would like to get some euro ones back on...that's pretty much it....I was in the military at the time so I was able to qualify for the once in a life time EPA waiver....no emmissions!
