Will wheels from a 1996-2000 540i, fit a 1988 635CSi?

It depends on what size wheels you have found, there are different wheels on the 1997(there was no 1996 540i) through 2000. Most common and desirable are the 17 x 8's and 17 x 9's from the 540i Sport. Below is the URL of the photo hopefully visible in this message, this is Robert Ledesma's 535is fitted with these wheels.
