just had mine fixed by BMW/volks Specialist. No more battery slosh.cheap too.

Interested in hearing the answer to your question, and have a simple one of my own:

Bought my '85 635 last fall, just in time to put it away for the winter. Battery is newer, but just sitting on the battery tray. What is used to hold it down? Can you describe it?
