The correct battery hold down is available from the dealer for around $12.00. It is P/N 61 21 1 356 881. This is item number 3 in the picture. Do not let the battery remain unsecured, as this could cause a major problem in even a minor impact!

You will also note from the picture the the original 635 battery had an acid vapor collector and drain hose (items 10 and 11)!


Interested in hearing the answer to your question, and have a simple one of my own:

Bought my '85 635 last fall, just in time to put it away for the winter. Battery is newer, but just sitting on the battery tray. What is used to hold it down? Can you describe it?
