If you didn't have a sunroof you'd have no problem at 6'4". Sport seats will not give you the clearance you are looking for! Make custom brackets to mount the seat to the floor. Usually 1" square stock aluminium will do the trick. If theor power seats you are on your own!
I've got an '85 635 with black leather "comfort" seats. As I'm over 6' 2" tall, my head touches the roof of the car unless I recline the seat a ways, which I don't really like to do.

I've looked at pictures of the factory "sport" seats and they look deeper (lower seat bottom). Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone ever swapped comfort seats for sport and noticed any difference?

It seems like finding used sport seats can be difficult because lots of people are looking for them but if I knew they were even 1" lower I'd keep looking. (and probably pay through the nose)
