WHAT IS LIFE EXPECTANY FOR A TIMING CHAIN ON A 1988 M6,
IS THERE A RECCOMENDED MILEAGE FOR REPLACEMENT?

Had mine done at 152kmiles. Chain was knackered as were the sprockets and one of the guides. Timing was also out by two teeth on the crank sprocket - I was very lucky not to blow the engine. Changed all tensioner pads, guides, all sprockets, chain gaskets etc for £1200 incl VAT.
Most talked about interval is 100k miles - do yours before 152k miles, best at 100k miles for piece of mind
Ian
