I'm 6'2" and have sport seats and I fit in well. I've never had comfort seats to make a comparison but I think you should fit with the sport seats.

I've got an '85 635 with black leather "comfort" seats. As I'm over 6' 2" tall, my head touches the roof of the car unless I recline the seat a ways, which I don't really like to do.

I've looked at pictures of the factory "sport" seats and they look deeper (lower seat bottom). Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone ever swapped comfort seats for sport and noticed any difference?

It seems like finding used sport seats can be difficult because lots of people are looking for them but if I knew they were even 1" lower I'd keep looking. (and probably pay through the nose)
