The only proto I can recall that BMW barely changed was the z7 (now z8).

The pic is very fuzzy, first.

BMW would never let that grille/spoiler leave Germany, secondly.

Third, keep in mind that BMW is producing the new Rolls Royce on a 750-ish platform, and the best way to cover their tracks would be --gee-- a BMW looking proto which can contain the massive Rolls 8Cyl engine (which would explain the huge hood).

I saw photos of what the new M3 would look like, what the Z3 was gonna be (looked more like a mini 850, mixed with a Z1). I have seen CRAZY pictures of some Rolls Royce protos, which have so many panels added, one would confuse them with a Lincoln at first glance.

Until I see a pic of the car sitting on a pedestal at a show, with all the new Bimmers, and a sign that says "750il," I refuse to rely on spy photos.

BMW is renowned for producing cars that look attractive even once dated. (The 635, for example.) The car in that photo is so ugly, even Lexus would refuse to make it! The new 7 series will be even prettier than the current model--betcha' 5 bucks.
