I had exactly the same problem, which was fixed this weekend. Apparently I needed a new actuator (£50). It now works perfectly.

'88 635csi Highline


The driver side door electric lock first stopped unlocking all doors with a turn of the key even though the trunk and passenger doors still controlled all locks, and even though it still was able lock all locks with a turn of the key . Now I'm having trouble even turning the key to lock the drivers side door. I tried to take the inner door panels off to look inside but had some problems. The bottem part of the panel pops off pretty easy but the upper part of the panel and the door handle doesn't budge and i don't see any way to completely unfasten the panels. Can anyone help me with the panel removal and any sugestions regarding my door lock problem.
