the story is.
My pods were separating badly, the foam cover from the metal framework.
Supplies-
-clamps, spring-type and 'c' clamps.
I utilized six various clamps per pod.
-adhesive, GORILLA GLUE. It's amazing stuff.
the latest/greatest product.
-masking tape
-paintbrushes, several small disposable, various sizes.
-several small pieces of wood. (1/2"x2"x6"-14")
use these for clamp pressue load dispersion.
-a small bowl of water.
-a med. coarsness wood wrasp.
-vinyl spray paint of your color.

1. remove pods from '6'.
2. clean/remove loose debris from inside separation.
3. mask perimeter of 'good' vinyl edge.
4. get inside foam wet. Good n' wet.
5. apply G-Glue, work way in there with brushes.
6. clamp down as needed. -you may have to do a few sessions/sections in stages.
7. clean excess
8. when glued has cured, you can shape/file excess
9. clean surface w/alchohol.
10 paint to your color.

-mine were pearl beige before this repair, I chose to paint them ultra-flat black. I like the color-change, it kida ties them in with the side panels.

-this method worked to my satisfaction, actual results may vary.

-this does not create an 'as-new' pod, but does rectify an eyesore for minimal expense. The cost for me was under $20.00, I bought glue & brushes,
but had all the rest.

-the real key, IMO, was the clamping. pay attention to pressure distribution, and too much pressure may leave a scar in the foam.

My '85 635 storage/speaker housings on the rear shelf need some help.

Like many I've seen, the foam and covering are pulled away/bowed up over the handles.

Is there a way to reattach the foam to the metal below it?

Would appreciate any help any of you could give!

Thanks
