I run a fifty-shot of NOS nitrous on my 85 euro ///M6, but have yet to 'toy' with it and find the proper settings. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOW SEVERAL RULES WHEN USING NITROUS ON ANY CAR:

1)You must use a fuel-pressure safety switch, designed to stop the n2o if pressure drops below 60psi.

2)You must be certain your motor is tuned properly, has fresh oil, and fresh coolant.

3)Nitrous is only for use at WOT (wide open throttle), and should only be used in 3rd gear and UP, to prevent losing control. It is very easy to lose the rear end of a car in 1st gear with nitrous!

4)Never start the motor after nitrous has accidentally been injected with the car off! It will cause an instant explosion. The intake must be cleared of n2o before starting the car-including the plenum and throttle bodies (careful system design will make that an impossibility).

5)Never use nitrous in traffic! "It be dangerous."

6)Stay within reasonable limits when designing your nitrous system! Some people claim you can boost up to 50% more HP. That is a bit dangerous to your motor. An instant burst of an extra 100hp on a 200hp car will wear it out very fast, and cause excessive heat. I would not exceed 25% extra HP.

These are a few importand things to consider also:

1)Nitrous only runs when you use it. This saves fuel during normal driving.

2)You have to keep the bottle filled. When you get to about 2 lbs. of nitrous, bottle pressure drops. Out of nitrous-out of power.

3)Improper use of nitrous can be dangerous to the motor. An engine must be in top working order to even consider n2o on a car. (This is true with turbos and superchargers, too.)

4)Unless you have a progressive controller, n20 is an on/off power addition; it kicks-in instantly. (This is why I used only 50 HP in my setup!)

I have only sprayed the system once, for a short burst in 3rd and 4th. IT MAKES THE CAR MOVE!

I am waiting for an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure gauge before I spray it on a regular basis.

I hope this enlightened you a bit to the world of Nitrous Oxide. There is MUCH more I did not cover here, but you will learn it if you look into nitrous on the WWW. I searched Google.com for info on "Do's and Don'ts of nitrous," and "Nitrous System Design." There are also several books on the subject.

Stick with an NOS Brand system if you get one. They have been around the longest.
