I have a chime that goes off at 36 degrees.

I also had a faulty pinswitch in the driver's door on my 735i, which made the door-ajar ping every time it was wet outside. If you have your interior light switched off when the door is open, try leaving the door-open position on, and see if it comes on when the ping is going off.

Unless there is something else, I could not tell you what is going on!

Is the stereo aftermarket? Where did the ping sound like it was coming from? If under the drivers dash, sounds like the door ping.
