M6 sport seats are nice but $$$ and kinda rare.. (archive)

Hamish--you don't have to limit yourself to BMW seats only. I replaced my non-supportive 88 635 seats with (gasp) 1996 Ford SVO sport seats. These seats are incredibly supportive, both laterally and comfortably!!! They also have a pump up bladder for lumbar support. I picked up the pair at a swap meet for $100. They were in perfect shape.

I had to make some custom mounts and have them welded ($25) to the seat tracks in order for them to fit-but fit they do! In fact, I like them better than the factory sport seats in my 88 M6.

Lest any purists bust my ass for using Ford seats-my BMW mechanic really likes them also.
