So, I bought a set of snow tires(thanks bobbo) from this board to make my car useable all winter. They are 195-70 14
which are nearly identical in circumference with my 225-50-16s. There is less than 1/2" difference so my speedo and ride height change very little and the bottle cap wheels they came on even look similar to my Alpinas which I left on the front. My car rode nicely but I missed pushing the limit on this ten mile mountain road I drive daily. I really hadn't found the limit on my sticky Yokohamas(chicken I guess)but yesterday I made an interesting discovery. I found the limit and then some. If you approach a low speed corner fast enough to get the tires squealing, get on the throttle and steer into the slide. you can hang the rear end out and keep it there all the way around the corner. You just play with the throttle to maintain the proper angle. What fun! I came home and took off my snows but I've been smiling all day.
