I am interested in a 79 euro 635. It's a very nice original car, except for 17" wheels. It has 115 k miles, full history and records, and has been recently serviced by a good mechanic who I know. The asking price is $8900. Any thoughts on what it's actually worth.

I bought a 79 635CSI for $3900 9 months ago. It needed a new A/C and some front suspension bushings. It has afew doordings, a couple of tiny paint chips, and cracks in the drivers side leather seat. It runs like a scalded goat and the tranny is sound. Take to a mechanic who knows BMW's and have him run compression tests, check cylinder head for cracks(could be a problem if not properly maintained), and check suspension(the wheel size that year was 14", i've got 16"). It's only worth what someone is willing to pay, just becuz he asks for $8900 doesn't mean he won't take less, he could only say no.
