My 85 635 has a screw holding the knob to the shift lever. The stick on pad with the shift pattern on it has to be pried off (carefully).

How do you get them off? My wife's 88 535is pull's off too easily but my 85 635 won't come off. Is there a screw? I want to switch the two because the leather has worn off part of the 635's and the 535's in great condition. (we're selling the 535, new owner gets the worn knob!) Thanks!
