First thanks for the forum and all previous assistance. I am humbly seeking more wisdom. My temperature guage when idling after a short drive sits very close to the red zone. When I drive on the freeway, it moves back a bit but not much. When I stop and check the engine, the engine appears hot but the small tank upon opening does not show any sign of boiling. (Perhaps it is not supposed to - I don't know.) I've changed the water pump, temperature sending unit, hoses, and bled the system using metric mechanics instructions. It has a new radiator, as well as a new BMW factory rebuilt engine. I have not changed the fan clutch as it showed signs it was working. I've jumped my fan and both low and high work fine. I've changed the radiator fan sensors with other used ones that previously worked before on the previous car, but my fan still does not come on when my temperature is registering right next to the red zone My temperature guage flickers at times and when I turn on something electrical like my turn signals it flickers more. In addition, when I turn on my air conditioning the guage instantly moves closer to the feared red zone. My question is whether my temperature guage is bad and I am getting a wrong reading or there is something mechanical going on overheating my new BMW rebuilt engine. I am getting worried as the heat in now 100 degrees in hot California. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
