I resently bought a 1983 633csi. The motor was suposed to have been rebuilt 50,000 miles ago. The car has 140,000 on it. On the side of the block it says "3.5" did it say that on a 633csi engine.

the block casting on drivers side of 633's is typically 3.0/3.3

The 3.5 is only on a 3.5l engine.

Look to see if the engine number matches the car VIN, if not it's been swapped w/a 3.5l.
