< Keep in mind the FI is controled by the air flow meter, so it is injecting fuel according to the amount of air going by the meter, not a displacement/rpm thing. 3.5's do have a different pressure regulator, higher I think but if memory serves me right I think the M cars used the 3.3 motronic injectors so they should have plenty of capacity. Granted the euro engines had still higher compression but the 82-84 3.3 was 8.8 to one from the factory so no knocking isn't surprising to me since thats what the control unit was originally set up for.
