Has anyone seen a "California treatment" 6 series? ie: all or most of the chrome trim painted body color? My color will be black (from Delphin grey) and the amount of chrome seems excessive. Opinions?

i bought a 1980 635 euro.the car was white, all the chrome-and i mean all the chrome was painted white.even the alpina wheels were white.it looked like shit..I striped the whole car all new trim, chromed the alpina wheels.I dont think there is an excessive amount of chrome at all.. just my opinion..... curt
