But, if you're looking for a fair value, you'll get all the information you need from the wheel itself--remove the center cap of one of the wheels and you should see some numbers imprinted into the wheel. The second set you describe sounds like the BBS Classic, which will be noted by a model number precedes by the letters RS (i.e. "RS 021"). If they are indeed 16x8, you'll see the next set of numbers that say "8Jx16". Then, the offset will be noted by the letters ET (i.e. "ET11").
If this is in fact what you have, they worth about $1,000 or so without tires--more if they are in excellent condition.
Write back once you can find out the information.
Hi all,
My friend has come across a number of wheels and I am asking for help.
1. He has a set of 4 BBS wheels, 16x8, 5 lug, chrome rims with grey basketweave with lugs (innies) all around rim. Two of them have 225/50zr16 and the other two don't have tires at all. Look in good shape, and if washed, would probably look excellent. The center hub is BMW Roundel, but yellowed.
2. He has a second set of 4 BBS wheels, 16x8, 5 lug, polished rims with grey basketweave with lugs (outies) all around rim. Two of them have 225/50zr16 and the other two 245/45ZR16, also in good shape, needing wash. These have the BBS center hub.
I am interested in purchasing one set from him (for my 88 M6), but he doesn't know, (and I don't either) how much to charge for them. According to him, he has been told that they fit a 6 series, but I don't know the offset, how do you measure this?
Any help appreciated,
Thanks, Pedro
PS. He also has some MBZ, other BMW, Pantera, GM wheels and tires, he is a auto detailer and is planning to sell them for one of his customer. If anybody interested, let me know and I can find out info for you.
