Need helpo w/ brake m/c replacement... (archive)

I have picked up one from a good used source and found a small flat steel washer present in the secondary or front portion of the new master. It is under the rubber gromit that holds the resevoir. There is not one of these in the first or primary area. It was just sitting loosely under the rubber grommit - didn't look right.

I have not removed my existing one yet, but was looking for tips before I "head in"!

Also, what is the difference between the abs/ non-abs m/c's?
They are listed differently at most mail order outfits.

I do have a pressure bleeder for later - hopin' this won't be too big a project!
