In my personal opinion, 17" E39 basketweaves are the absolute best looking wheels on a 6er. Hopefully, you see why.

They're reasonably light and are well-built. Only downside is that they're rather expensive.

I have Mille Miglia 17" wheels on one 6er and Hartge 16" wheels on the other. The Mille Miglia wheels are probably lighter than those basket weaves, but they don't look quite as good. I love the Hartge wheels and I think they look fantastic on the car. Alpina also made some wheels just for the 6. If you like the Hartge then BMP has good prices:
