Hey Lars, How's it going.
The windows on the Euro's (maybe on the US models as well- never owned or checked out many so hard to say with credibility) had the plastic circular caps on the doors where you might normally find the window cranks. Until around 82 or 83, these were for the optional manual windows and can be used to override the power system and roll up or down the windows in case of power failure. Pop the cap off and you'll find the toothed pinion to attach the crank to. Pretty wild. Same as on the E23 7's.

The non-sunroof coupe's are very rare, wish mine was still alive.

It is not uncommon for first time 6 buyers to consider that these cars cost a lot to buy. They were imported in large numbers and are not rare. The car you describe (understand I haven't seen it), sounds more like something a knowing enthusiast would buy for parts. Stay on the board and you'll begin to see. I have seen perfectly acceptable, running 6 series cars sell for what you say they want for this "flood case". For another $1000 have seen very nice early to mid 80's models.

Another thing that is puzzling about your description is the statement about no sunroof and no power windows. Do you mean the power windows are gone. I can't imagine an 82 with no sunroof and have NEVER seen a 6 with windup windows.

My car is a 77 with no sunroof, but it's one of the few I have ever seen without one, and it has power winders.

Can anyone clarify this.... Did any Euros have no SR and winder windows??
