I say that because I know I have covered this issue twice and I cannot remember the answer...

To Start... if not obvious, shes a 1977 630CSi

Had a little accident...(ran off the road by a drunk) and while did little damage other than a bumpy ride to the undercarraige by nailing a li'l boulder.

Now the car won't start but everything seems ok physically other than it won't start.

I put the key in the second position ready to fire her up and I thought that in this position I should hear the fuel pump running as its not the aux position of the ignition key, but the full power startup position prior to cranking. She turns over like she wants to fire and is gettin a spark. The lack of the humming that I think should be heard would signify that the relay or a wire is damaged.

Question is, should, in this secondary position, should I be hearing the pump humming away? I forget. LOL

(for clarification, theres no in-tank primer pump, just the main fuelpump behind the pass. rear wheel.
