Don,

I wouold suspect taht replacing the connecting rod big end bearings will have a greater influence on your oil pressure than the mains. They wear a lot more. Of course, you can easily do this when you have the pan off. Also, you might see about getting a few oil pump shims to make sure that your chain is properly adjusted.

Come to think of it, at 189,000 miles, I'd also replace the timing chain since the bottom is opened up. It's a piece of cake.
