: The lower air vents (openings on car interior near driver's and passenger's feet controlled by lower "slide" switch on dash) on my 1986 528e seem to not be closing all of the way which is allowing outside air to enter the car when cruising down the road. How should I attack this problem? I haven't seen any postings in regards to this problem so any input would be greatly appreciated.

: I desperately need to fix this problem before full-blown Georgia summer sets in...

Alex, I think I have exactly the same problem or one closely related. The heating system in my 86 528e works just perfectly. When the AC is on very hot air comes out of the defroster vents and, if you plug them up, out of the floor, but only when the car is moving. At idle, the AC is fine and no air comes in. HELP!!!!!!! Guys! How is this hot air getting in???
