I got the car about a year ago and it didn't start doing it 'til about 6 months ago. I'm sure the fix would be simple, it's just not worth my time to track it down. I'm not sure, but I think it might have something to do with the abs check when the car is started. I don't know.

: Does this mean that in your case it hasn't always done it? I hate to sound foolish about this but it just seems silly to have the check system report a problem that isn't really there.

: I will be using the old foot on the brake starting trick if they all do that. Thanks for the advice.

: : Yep. It's been doing it for about 6 months now. Turn on the car, brake light on, push the brake, brake light off. Glad to hear I'm not the only one.

: : : Has anyone had this annoying problem.

: : : You start the car and the check brake lights signal lights up on the check panel. Then when you press the brake pedal, it disappears. The brake lights are fine and the rear lights check relay as well as the brake switch have been replaced with BMW parts due to recent failures.

: : : Thanks
