Removing broken bolt on thermostat housing (archive)

I used a bit too much torque while trying to remove the lower bolt of the thermostat housing on my '85 535i. The head of the bolt ended up on the driveway. The rest of the bolt is firmly attached to the thermostat housing. I did manage to safely remove the other bolts and also removed the entire assembly from the head.

My question is ... What's the best way to remove the rest of the bolt?
