This weekend I was accelerating hard in my 1984 533i(178k), when I had almost complete loss of power. Pulled the car to the side of the road, and the car would not restart. I waited by the car for a while, and then restarted the car fine. The same problem happened a few miles down the road. Waited an hour and the car restarted. Finally after a couple stalls and restarts, I was able to drive the car for about thirty minutes through the country( no stopping ), as long as I did not accelerate hard. Just replaced the fuel filter and I still have the same problem. The manual is suggesting to check 02 sensor, air flow meter, and/or vaccum lines for leaks. Does anyone have a suggestion?
