: Is the stock M5 air dam specific to that model or was it a factory option on all e28's if anyone knows the part #. Also is there an after market manufacturer that makes a similar spoiler.

The air dam was specific to the M5 and 535is on the E28's. They do however fit any E28. I recently purchased a similar version from Bavarian Autosport made by Racing Dymnamics. I liked the stying better than the factory design and it included the fog lights. The factory unit from Bavarian is more expensive and does not include the fog lights. The Racing Dynamics air dam did require some patients in installing and their directions/instructions were poor at best. I had to go buy my own hardware attach the air dam my own way. If you are not somewhat handy don't try this. The fog lights do not reach the factory wiring either. I'm still working on this. I love the look but was unhappy with the hardware, instructions and fog lights that are still not hooked up. Good luck!
