Make sure that the dope you put back there is HYPOID. It's designed for it and shold get it, synthetic or not. Remember that synthetics are basically more stable at higher temps, ie higher char point by far. A rear dif doesn't experience high temps so going synthetic is not as important as getting the exact dope it needs.

Think most american muscle drove their entire lives on factory dope in the diff and they had MUCH more torque to deal with and no synthetics. ..
