Per the story I located in Gainesville Today by Janice Gaboury (Sept. 2000....sorry, no link...but email: gville2day@aol.com), it is a 1.6 mile course known as the Vehicle Dynamics Test Track. It offers a unique combination of curves, corers, intersections, and
straightaways. It was designed and built by Don Robertson (Gen Mgr of the raceway...this where they hold the Gatornationals) specifically to be used for advanced driver training programs and multipurpose vehicle testing. Said to be an ideal venue for race car, motorcylce or other vehicle testing or chassis setup, and high performance vehicle familiarization. Thus, MB-USA, Brumos Porsche of Jax, et al. have already signed on to demo their 2001 lines at the track. I think the G'Ville and Jacksonville, FL dealers are going to make this a hot spot! The Santa Fe Communinity College is going to offer accident avoidance and car-control techniques courses through their Continuing Education Department(352-395-5195). I'll have to make certain the First Coast and Sun Coast Chapters of BMWCCA know about this...should mean steady business.
