then you can telescope it- there's a lever underneath the steering column. Pull it out(towards you), and then you can push or pull the steering wheel in or out. But, don't force anything. The tan part under the steering wheel setup(above the pedals) was attached to my steering wheel, and I unattached it when I yanked. It was no biggy though cause I just screwed it back in everywhere else besides onto the steering wheel column.
