e28 cockpit ergonomics are a very common complaint among tall drivers. Richard Nott has an excellent website that I would recommend you check out for many reasons...the technical information section is fantastic. Try his link for info specific to your problem and suggested mofications...located in the technical info section...look under "cockpit".

I prefer to sit high and upright in my 88 535is.
I cannot see the temp gauge or the speed between say 40 and 100 mph.
Has anyone raised the steering wheel or turned the gauges upside down and replaced the fuel gauge with the temp gauge???
