I have a surging 533i. I was unable to remove the
Idle Control Valve. However, here is what I found. There is a square three pin connector attached to a module on the from and top of the manifold. The module is "squareish" in shape and attached w/ 2 screws . When I remove the
connector from the module the car races to 3K RPM. Is this normal? I discovered that one of the three wires leading to the connector had been rubbing and was making a questionable connection. I stripped the wires and spliced them back together. This did not improve the idle.

Upon start up, the car idles at 2K for 10 seconds and then drops to 1K where it serges between 1000 and 1100 constantly. Any ideas?
TIA, TT2
