Austin and Larry - Thanks for replying. I guess what you are both saying is that value is in the eye of the beholder. Austin did you buy the car in Tor or Ariz? I guess is 60k less km worth $3k more in price. I don't know. Anyway I bought the car today and feel I have nothing to lose. If I get a few years use out of it without dumping a whole lot into it then I will be way ahead of the game. Besides I am already in love with it. Nice to be back in a beemer. The girl who sold it too me was crying as I drove away (she bought a 328 so I don't feel too bad). Thanks again for your input.

I just bought an 87 528e, with 240,000km for $3000CAN. Zero rust, all highway miles back and forth from Arizona to Toronto. Had to get new timing belt and other slight repairs (+500)

Hi - This seems like a bargain. I am in Vancouver so I will convert $ and km/miles. This is a 2nd owner car with complete service records all performed at BMW dealership. No rust (very little salt used in Vanc). Price $3900US , mileage 109k (181k Km). I know the owner. Meticulous, and recently fully serviced. Seems like a deal, not much in this market to compare to
