All of the switches can be taken apart. Simply drill out the rivets, pull it apart slowly and clean all of the contact surfaces. To put it back together you can either use appropriately sized screws or small nylon ties. I've reconditioned all my switches to like new operating condition.

Whenever I drive my cold (interior) '85 535i with the headlights on, the switch reverts to the high beam position. It's very annoying when in cold weather, my high beams spontaniously come on. The detent spring in the switch is definitely affected by low temperatures. Has anybody else experienced this? Anybody got a cure?

TIA
