The process is a little long for a new post, but just go to the e34 board and search for twisted seat back, and you will find all of the info you need.

Greetings fellow bimmerphiles!
I just bought an oldie-but-goodie 84 633 (yes I know I'm in the E28 board, but my problem isn't E-type specific, and I wanted as many replies as I could get). The problem is the seatback on the driver's side reclines only one side, so the whole thing gets twisted. It's the same electric seat as on E28's except it tilts forward for backseaters, so I was hoping someone could help me avoid the "twist and shout."
I do have an 88 535i, so I'm not entirely out of place here anyway! But seriously, I'd really appreciate someone's help in fixing this problem (and there may be other E28ers with the same problem too).
