Actually that's the reason why I bought an automatic '88 528e, and am about to purchase another one (same year, model, transmission, different color). They are just in perfect condition and the price is/was great. Most old cars where I live are abused so much that I'd rather deal with switching transmissions on a pristine car than suffer with broken seats and rusted body on a car with a manual transmission.

BTW you say you've found web sites that talk about swapping transmissions. Would you share the URL's with us? The only one I know of is the one I posted before. Thanks
