Hi
I just kinda had a thought today (not a big deal just kinda curious). I have an 86 535i and I was looking to sell it and get a 535 stick (mine is auto). I ran across a nice 87 325is. I was wondering which car is more fun. The extra room isn't a big deal for me. However difference in power is. Will there be a big difference in power (I was gonna put a chip and exauhst either way). Any opinions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
Sari

I'd say go drive the 325is and see what you think. I personally prefer the e28, but...

If you're like I am you'll notice a more sensitive steering response on the 325 that goes along with the lighter, smaller car with rack and pinion steering.

You give up the extra doors and some interior room with the e30 I appreciate the tad more room on longer drives.

Power wise, I think they're about the same given the weight difference and the hp difference.

The M20 engine is, IMHO a smoother running engine overall (fewer cubes per cylinder), but uses a timing belt. No big deal either way.

Bob
