Parting out a car is similar to someone dying and donating organs to save lives.

Parting out a perfectly good car is questionable.

I now own a car that I wished for when I was still in high school almost 15 years ago. These cars are great because they last a long time if well maintained and there are so many replacement parts currently available.

Like all cars, the parts sold separately always exceed the cost of the whole. That's why a salvage yard owner I know owns 2 brand new S-classes.

If you have the time and space, you'll make more selling the parts separately. You have to ask yourself is it worth your effort? Advertise on this board and ebay and I think you will attract serious and reasonable buyer for your parts. It will take longer than you might think to sell every part that you pull off the car (up to a year?) The engine, trans and wheels will sell faster than the others. Then what?

Good Luck

P.S. Put me on the list for those e34 wheels, after looking at my TRX's yesterday I was wondering if is could retread them with that cool silicon everyone is talking about? (just kidding)
