At our local track, at the end of a long, long straight, there is virtually no difference between my chipped 535is and my friend's 325i. This is from 70kph to 180 kph. So peak power/weight must be near identical. But the E28 has more everyday useable torque. Through the rest of the track's twisties he's maybe .5 sec faster. Both cars have aftermarket spring/shock/sway bars.

Hi
I just kinda had a thought today (not a big deal just kinda curious). I have an 86 535i and I was looking to sell it and get a 535 stick (mine is auto). I ran across a nice 87 325is. I was wondering which car is more fun. The extra room isn't a big deal for me. However difference in power is. Will there be a big difference in power (I was gonna put a chip and exauhst either way). Any opinions or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You
Sari
