under Howard's guidance, i've started looking for differentials with higher ratios rather than lower ones (heheh, duh, i'll try using 6th grade math in the future), and while e28's weren't made with anything higher than 3.46:1, there are some e30's with a ratio of 3.73:1 which seems about right to me (fuel efficiency be damned)... so is it possible to put an e30 differential on a 535i, and if so, what does it take? just a matter of some spacers maybe? also, is there anything wrong with stripping one off of a junkyard car, barring excessive mileage? it sure would be cheaper than rebuilt, and the more money i keep in my wallet the better
