I recently purchased a 1988 528e (219,000) and the paint seems to have a sort of white discoloration in areas on the hood, door panels, roof, and trunk lid. I've tried evertything from de-oxidizer to rubbing compound and nothing seems to be removing it. A neighbor looked at it for me and suggested that the clear coat itself was decaying. Is there anything out there than can repair this decay in the clear coat? Thanks for any help in advance.

Patrick
