well heres the abridged version for now...made it to seattle, my 5er broke on the way...after losing two belts and spending the nite stranded on the grapevine..she later over heated. pleny of coolant, my guess was air in the system. had to remove all hoses aand purge the air out using a garden hose at a truck stop,,,,,,what did i do wrong....and how can i prevent this ?????

used water in the system after the flush, the engine temp will create air pockets at the hot spots in the head w/o anti freeze.

Other than that, just bleed the air at the thermostat housing several times (unless you have a head gasket problem as well from no water pump (thrown belt).
