Supporting car for rear end rebuild (archive)

Since my rear subframe bushings are loose (88 535i 5spd), I thought I would reinforce the bushings with polyurethane. Since I want to rebuild the driveshaft, change exhaust and r. shocks, r. rotors, and new brake fluid, I thought I would pull the whole subframe (doesn't look that hard - 2 brake lines and emerg. brake cables). Here's the question: where do I support the car and still have access to subframe mounts? Rocker panels ahead of the wheels? Not the r. bumber.
Thanks Bob, for your advice regarding my oil pressure light delay a while back. When I removed the oil fltr. flange I found the lightly sprung return valve but it is only a metal cap under a thin coil spring - no rubber washer or o-ring.
