Don't expect any special favors from Chips on BMW motorcycles (aka Beemers).

How Fast have you taken your E-28? No M-5's please.

Please indicate if w/chip. Please don't do this just so you can post a speed to answer this question. I'm trying to guage my car against others who may have had a chance to open up on a long stretch of road. Came back from LA and was bored driving down I-5 so I decided to open up a bit. I reached 135mph. No modifications. All stock.

Hoy! Pare! Mabuti wala ang CHP! But then anyone on this board will agree, these cars were made for fast driving. Got my '86 535i up to 120mph with more room to go between pedal and floor. Only modification is a Dinan Chip. An old Road and Track issue from 1984 had a top speed comparison article. They achieved 131mph in a 533i with Rob Walker at the wheel. Said the BMW was "as gentle as a bird" when at max speed. So your max speed may be fairly accurate, give or take a few mph. Ingat ka pare!

Yeah, that would have been an expensive speeding ticket.
