There was a product made by VHT/Sperex Co. which has been outlawed in several counties in Calif. You might still find available from mail order
companies like J.C. Whitney, Jegs, or Summit Racing. Can't remember the name of it, but it was designed specifically for blacking out tail light lenses.

Hello Everyone,,'
Has anyone heard of or used a product called
(Lens Paint) to blackout your tail lights.I live in N. Carolina and haven't had any luck finding the product. If anyone can help please feel free to email me..

thanks in advance.
Jim (N.C.)

i saw a product similar to this in the Rocky Mountain Motorworks VW parts and accessories catalog.
